Supplemental insurance is extra or additional coverage that you can purchase to help you pay for services and out-of-pocket expenses that your regular insurance does not cover. We can write these plans for both under 65 and Medicare.
Some supplemental insurance plans will pay for out-of-pocket medical expenses, such as deductibles, co-payments, and coinsurance. Other supplemental plans may provide you with a cash benefit paid out over a period of time or given to you in one lump sum. The cash can be used to cover lost wages, transportation related to your health condition, or used to pay for food, medication, and other unexpected expenses you have due to an illness or injury.
The most important plan anyone can have is a cancer plan. Your health insurance policy will not cover experimental treatment or experimental drugs. It also won't cover food or travel for treatment. And, quite honestly you don't know what you will do, need or want when you hear your Doctor say....You have cancer!
I always tell clients that I hope they buy the coverage and they have wasted their money because I wouldn't wish cancer on anyone. BUT, should you get a diagnosis, that money will be delivered to you and it will improve the quality of your life, one way or another.
